Purposeful Recovery, One Small Step at a Time

The Momentum Method is a 12-week guided program designed to support individuals recovering from psychological injury, burnout, or disrupted routine to re-establish structure, regain confidence, and rebuild functional capacity—without overwhelm.

Grounded in psychological principles such as behavioural activation and habit stacking, the program helps participants embed achievable, repeatable actions into their daily routine. Rather than aiming for major leaps, the focus is on sustainable progress through small, meaningful habits—anchored to everyday moments like brushing your teeth, having a coffee, or finishing lunch.

Delivered by experienced Mental Health Occupational Therapists, the program includes personalised planning, structured check-ins, and weekly reflections to support gradual re-engagement with life, activity, and—when appropriate—return to work.

What’s Included

The Momentum Method is delivered over 12 weeks, guiding participants through a phased recovery journey tailored to their individual goals and capacity. Led by experienced Mental Health Occupational Therapists, the program provides structure, support, and practical tools to help individuals rebuild confidence, regulate energy, and restore function in daily life.

Program features include:

  • A comprehensive intake and personalised goal-setting session

  • Weekly 1:1 coaching with a Mental Health OT during the initial phase

  • Activity scheduling and simulated tasks to build structure and tolerance

  • Habit stacking techniques using everyday anchors

  • Guided reflection and pacing strategies to manage fatigue and prevent setbacks

  • A final review to consolidate gains and plan next steps

The program transitions from weekly to fortnightly and monthly check-ins, encouraging growing independence while maintaining support. Participants move at their own pace, with each phase designed to gradually build capacity and promote sustainable wellbeing.
